Alarm on swift 2024 challenger.

Hi. I received an email from swift telling me the caravan alarm had been triggered. When I looked at the swift app, sure enough the alarm was disarmed.

On visiting the caravan, I reset the alarm with the fob.

Once inside the caravan I noticed that the PIR sensor was not flashing green, and usually if you move in front of the sensor the alarm goes off, but in this case, despite arming the alarm it doesn't go off, or make and audible sound at all .

I disarmed and armed the alarm several times, which shows up ok in the app. The only issue really is the sensor and the alarm not sounding.

Any ideas please. Thanks

Have you gone through the settings menu and checked the sensitive setting of the PIR. Also there is a separate sensitivity setting for the Caravan movement detection, If the PIR does not flash after checking the unit May of failed. When our caravan was about 12 months old we had this. I phones Sargent and they sent me a replacement unit next day by Courier. I then changed it and notified them when I had done it,and they sent Courier to collect the old one. I have done this twice on 2 different Caravans

Thanks for your reply. I haven't done that. I wouldn't know how to. We haven't used the caravan for 2 months and the last time I looked it was ok.

If you look in the wallet of instruction manuals supplied with the caravan there should be the instructions of the menus settings. If not if you look on Sargent website you will find instructions. If the green PIR is not flashing you can check the connector is still connected to the unit, plugged in the bottom front window side of the alarm box. If OK and PIR not flashing when movement, i suspect the unit failed. As said I have had this on 2 Caravans. Phone Sargent they are vey helpful and easier to just plug-in change yourself than going back to Dealer. When on Phone they will need the Caravan CRIS Number
PS if you do go through the menu you will see the log of the number of times the Alarm has been actuated,

If you contact Sargent electrical helpline , they may be able to tell you more about the state of the leisure and alarm internal batteries , both may have gone below the threshold.
