Alarm? What is the best value/quality

Hi everyone

Am looking to purchase an alarm for my van. I would be interested in your thoughts on models available. Happy to pay a sensible price for a product that conforms to industry standards.

I bought a personnel alarm for under a tenner and mounted it on the unit inside the door (double sided tape), when leaving the van i hook the actuating pull cord over the door latch, if any one enters the alarm is activated, dont know the decibels but its deafening, and a cheap alternative, I asked my insurance co if this was ok, and was told yes it is an intruder alarm,not hi tech but it works, and is right in your face when it goes off.

I fitted a cheap shed alarm worked off four AA batteries - our local police were selling them, also B & Q . I also fitted a BRIGHT flashing red L.E.D. so that it can be seen through the door window - so long as I remember to raise the door blind before going out at night ! Neither will stop the determined thief but might make the casual chancer pause for thought.
