The pink G13 coolant in my Alde 3020 Compact boiler is due for its five-year replacement soon and I was just wondering what people are paying this year?
Thanks.

It seems prices are close to £200. We had ours done just befroe Covid started lockdown in 2021 and then it was £150 and done by ALDE themselves.

Thanks Buckman.
Purely by coincidence, a few minutes ago I received a message from the independent AWS guy I use to do my annual service. He can do the job in a couple of weeks time and the cost is £200 for the replacement of the fluid and £15 for the disposal of the old stuff, including the VATheft.
I'd seen prices online ranging from £200 up to a whopping £300+VAT!
My man's price is in the ballpark so I'll go ahead and book him.
Cheers.(y):)

I think the price can also depend on what product is used, the eurocar parts triple QX is as cheap as chips, but not recommended by Alde, other makes get dearer

G13 is a proprietry VW specification but widely used across the car industry and other industries.

My VW Touareg uses G13 and has a steel block with alloy heads but has no scheduled coolant change ever, just check the strength every 4 years or 40,000 miles - so does the Alde system really need a change of coolant - or is this just a money-spinning ruse from AWS technicians and workshops?

I think Alde say to change it due to the corrosion additives breaking down and causing corrosion in their heaters, also old antifreeze in caravan and motorhomes start to smell fishy as they start to break down.

You can usually see evidence of the corrosion in the header tank they start going a brown colour
