Alde header tank

Hi

One for those of you who have alde central heating fitted?
Just been in the van topping up the heating fluid and noticed the header tank has a threaded neck. Should the tank have a cap fitted (similar to the set up on a car header tank)?
Alde website doesn’t show one.

Many thanks for your assistance.

Kev

Mine has a screw cap, which holds the pump in the header tank, however found this on Alde website, maybe it should have a cap on, check with your dealer.

Yes; where you have a boiler side mounted pump the cap is a simple cap.
There is a pump mounted in the cap where there is no boiler pump used.

If your installation has a boxed in header just check the cap has not dropped down inside, assuming it could.

Thanks both
I have removed the external housing and it’s not in there, I suspect it was removed when the van was dealer stock.
Can’t find one listed on the alde site (apart from the type with built in pump) mine is a remote pump. I will email alde customer services and see what they can offer.

The dealer you bought from should provide a replacement cap if yours has been removed.
Remember your contract is with the dealer, not Alde.

Also, if you bought from the dealer, even if it was a stock van, if he missed this , what else has he missed on the PDI, or removed to satisfy another customer????
