Could anyone tell me if it is usual to have some 'play' both lateral and horizontal in an Alko hitch. Whilst towing my van home recently I had some real creaks and clunks from the hitch area (which I have never had before)and upon inspection have noticed this 'play'. Never had any problems on our previous three outings. Van is a 6 month old Lunar Quasar 525

I understand that the creaks and clunks are due to a dirty tow ball, get your self a fine sponge sanding block and give it a quick clean....solves the problem!

As for the play there is movement in ours, I guess thats so you can go round corners and over bumps?
