ALKO 3004

Im thinking of fitting an ALKO 3004 "triple pack to my caravan. Will this fit onto my Witter removable towbar, and can you use the hitchlock whilst attached to my car??

You will need to fit the Alko ball hitch. The hitchlock can be fitten when hitched. If it doesn't appear to want to lock lift the back gently and it will lock. (There is a problem with the paint on them that can foul the casting.)

The Alko type hitch is great product-make sure all the coating on the tow all is removed. The friction pads work best on the bare metal of the ball.

Just be aware with the hitch-if you are traveling with the hitch lock on, some authorities get a bit touchy about it. It is just in case the caravan requires unhitching quickly i.e in an accident etc.

Hope this helps.

gavin we have just collected our new van 2day and the chap said do not put the hitch lock on when traveling just use it when parked up because if you have it on and the van needs to be unhitched quickly in case of fires with the gas bottles been in the front so the firemen can get at the bottles and cool them down so its a no no when you think about it ,its common sense really just use it when parking up in service stations for some scran and the first question is yes.Ian.L
