I've got a static red light on my Alko ATC I'm now going to leave the the caravan connected to the car over night so the ATC has a 12v power supply needed to clear the log file.
Question is, we are onsite in Cornwall if I connect car and van is the ATC the only live draw on my car? Presuming when connected to mains the 12v draw from the van is disabled???

No need for that Mike.
The correct "reboot" is remove the 12S or 13 pin plug . Wait 5 seconds or so replace the plug and the system will reset. Sometimes moving the caravan a few feet and doing the reset will suffice. There is no need to do what you propose.
Do you have the Al-ko ATC manual? That explains everything.

Thanks for the reply. Tried all that, had to have the RAC out to us yesterday to fit a new battery so think that a lot of error messages have been created by the voltage varying and going low due to dodgy battery.
Alko manual says: ATC stores operating errors in a logfile which over time will become full and will result in the solid red light appearing. This needs to be erased and can be done easily by connecting the caravan to a 12 volt supply for a period of 12 hours. The power required to carry out this function is minimal. Most occurrences of these errors are due to power supply problems to ATC which could be due to low voltage, or an intermittent power supply from the towbar.

The ATC usually remains connected during ferry crossings. I've never encountered any battery drainage even on the Plymouth to Santander 22 hour crossing
