alko hitch reversing

can anyone tell me how to lock the hitch when reversing so it doesnt apply caravan brakes when reversing. Had a smelly clutch the other day struggled for ages cheers...

Duncan, if you have a relatively new van it has automatic reverse on the brakes of the van, that is, when you reverse, the van shoes "collapse" and allow the van to be moved backwards with no braking.

You cannot "lock" the hitch.

The smelly clutch would most probably be caused by you slipping the clutch as you were trying to reverse.

If the brakes do not disengage when reversing, then they are wrongly adjusted and should be serviced and adjusted correctly.
