I have a 2004 alco hitch fitted to my caravan<so I purchased a 2004 hitch lock but when I try to fit it on the hich it goes on but will not move forward enough so it can be locked in place can any one help me thank you john
 
i had same problem found that if you tilt it fporward so the top lug slots in the location it goes in first and the lower the body of the lock down and slide it forward at the same time.Sounds a bit mutch but i can do it in one movement if you look at the inside you can see it needs to slot in but the top lug must be in.
 
Had the same problem. Lift the cover slightly and push forward. Should work then. Had three vans and on one it was almost impossible to fit. (I suspect you had to hold your mouth a certain way!!!)
 
Hello thank you all for your help, I have found out why my hitchlock would not fit it was twisted out of line and it was to wide, so had to staighten it up and close it up as well and now it fits, thank you all again john
