ALKO HITCHLOCK FOR 2004/3004 STABILISER

I have just picked up my new caravan which has the Alko 2004 stabiliser fitted. My last van had the 3004 fitted. For some reason my Alko hitchlock model typ 1 -ETI 811202 will not fit the 2004 stabiliser. I have checked ALKO's website and it is definately supposed to fit both. Anyone else experienced this problem? Thanks. Andy.

Mine is the opposite.

My previous van had the 2004 fitted and the new one has a 3004.

The old hitchlock fits OK.

It looks as though something is different about the new hitch but I can't make out what (The new van is in storage so I can't *** out to see).

Clarky.

Andy,

Just a thought. You are dropping the ALKO 2004 straight onto the stabiliser, then sliding forward?

Don't do as I did and tried to fit by engaging the lip first.

Cheers Pop

Thanks all for the advice. I took the van back and KB of Kincardine were very helpful. First we checked to see if it would fit on another 2004/3004 stabiliser and it went on a bit stiffly, as it did on my old one, but it went on no problem. So the fitter looked inside the hitchlock and noticed some excess metal when moulded at manufacture. So he filed it off and now it fits perfect. We came to the conclusion that my stabiliser had no room for tolerance. Thanks. Andy.
