I have just fitted a set but have not yet towed the van any distance, although my initial impression was that it was less bouncy (although empty). I will be towing further later on this month and will let you know.

My present van (Burstner) came with SAs fitted. The previous vans (Coachman) didn't - all around 1500kg.

There is no dramatic difference, as i was always happy with the way the Coachmen towed, but subjectively the Burstner is smoother over bad surfaces where the holes are frequent but small but no different over surfaces where holes are not so frequent but larger (Spain v Somerset)

The only problem you may find is that fitting SAs may restrict the choice of fitting a mover - it may have to go behind rather than in front of the axle.

I fitted Al-Ko Octagon dampers to my Bailey Pageant - it towed a lot smoother and was less affected by HGV bow waves or cross winds - it enabled me to tow at 97% without any drama - best

Have to agree with Rodger, well worth the small outlay.

Rides more smoothly over poor road surfaces too.
