Where is the best place to sell a pair of Alko shock for a caravan. were getting a new van with them already on and these are only 6 months old. Im not giving them to the dealer for free!!

Has the dealer already seen the van, and therefore knows what you are offering in part exchange, and has made an offer? Removing items that are part of the base vehicle could be construed as defraud, however I doubt the dealer will bother as he/she will sell the van on in an 'as seen' condition.
You can obviously sell these on any of the web selling agencies, but be careful to ensure that you accept no liability to the purchaser. If they fitted them and had an accident you do not wish to be held as partly liable.
Frankly, is the value that important to you, and it is obvious they will not fit the new van. When I traded in my last van I returned unused the awning supplied by the dealer because I purchased at a Show. I could have sold it separately, but I did not see the necessity. I trusted the dealer to give me a good deal, and vice versa.

Thank you scotch lad for your comments, the shocks were not part of the base vehicle, I put them on 6 months ago, Im taking my battery, tready feet, and locks ect.
To recoup some of my hard earned money which was spent on my van is imo ok, I cannot afford to leave things for the dealer, he gave me nothing extra for the microwave and radio left in the van which were puchaced on top of the base vehicle, oh and I would have taken them out if I had a spare locker door to put in place of the microwave lol

Try Preloved.
Tkae out everything that didn't originally come with the caravan. Don't forget the gas bottles. When you return the caravan to the dealer make sure he understands you are returning to him , what he gave you in the first place excluding all your accessories.

I have already got details on what shocks I need for my van. I need the blue shocks Part number 244085 plus brackets Part No. 244088. Thanks for your comments.

Don't forget he will have valued your van as a total item, not separating items such as built in microwaves etc. If that valuation was not to your liking, why accept it?
Of course, we all remove our ancillary items such as locks when trading in. I also removed my battery because it was an upgraded one supplied by the dealer, and paid for by me. He in turn replaced mine with the new smaller one from my new van, something I was happy to agree to.. I also left a spare wheel and tyre unused, that were supplied by me. They would not fit the new van so yes, I could have removed them and resold them, but life is too short, and no, I am not a millionaire. But it does sound from your Posts that you do not enjoy a happy relationship with the dealer, so why use them I wonder.
I have recognised that dealerships are commercial enterprises and need to make money to survive. I also accept that some are more belligerent than others in how they do this, so if I find one that is prepared to work with me, then I am prepared to follow suit. Maybe I am a old fashioned mug, but then again I give money to the Sally Army every week, and do not expect anything in return.

Mikey w If you look up on E Bay Item number: 130286544707 im sure you will be pleased with the price. If your interested look foward to hearing from you. all intact all you will need is 4 nuts as these are the plastic thread 1 shot nuts. Ill even print off the fitting instructions from alko for you if you need them.

Scotch lad the dealer has not viewed the caravan other than servicing, so nothing has been agreed. the caravan will be taken to the dealers next Saturday for my mover to be swapped to my new van. They will inspect the van to ensure that it is as discribed by me (in very good condition) and of course as a customer of theirs they will have any relavent info on condition and damp ect (theres no damp)I am getting a good deal BUT so is the dealer getting a good deal.
Ill take off the van what I concider mine to use or sell as I see fit.

There are no definitive prices for secondhand caravans. The Glass's Guide merely suggests a price based on age and condition, and of course it will have a degree of licence built in. If the dealer has offered you a price, and you have accepted then that is the end of the matter, unless the van you deliver is significantly different to that as described.
As we all know it is often the case that 'improvements' can reduce the value of a van as a new owner may not appreciate your choices. Keeping it as original as possible is usually best.
It is obvious we view commercial arrangements in a different fashion, and I am not suggesting one is any better than the other and I am pleased you achieved your objectives with your sale.
