Alko Side Lift Jack - Bracket Failure

Hi All
We have a 2010 Coachman fitted with an ALKO side lifting jack complete with the appropriate ALKO brackets as delivered. On arriving home today after a short break away we had to use the jack to raise the van so that we could rotate the wheel in order to get the ALKO wheel lock on ( those dreaded tyre valves alaways get in the way ! and we did not have much room to manouvre the van back or forwards).

Well, we used the jack as instructed and began to raise the van ( we had used the same jacking system on our previous Bailey Senator many times without any problems) and found that despite winding up the jack the van was not being raised. On looking, I found that the jack bracket attached to the chasis had collapsed and bent.

I have sent an e-mail to ALKO this evening explaining what has happened and asking for some comment and await an early reply, however I wonder if any Forum member has had a similar problem. There was no problem with the jack - just the bracket !

Regards

Alan

Hi Alan.
Havent had any probs with mine, but do you think maybe that the bracket bolts that hold them onto the chassis had not been tightened correctly?
