Narrowing a van is a backward step. Mounting a heating system under the floor concerns me especially with the amount of wet weather we've experienced in the uk and flooded roads and camping fields awash with rain water.
Apart from that, the graphics are terrible and the middle front section is pretty ugly.

perhaps the photos dont do it justice but it looks very tight between the seats to me and I'd like to see how the heating goes underneath. Its tight with a motormover but at least it wont leak gas if its struck a kerb or anything.Like the window personally but didnt like the short table in the Unicorn ,wonder what this table is like

After looking at a video of the new GT65 there are also far too many side lockers. Punching a load of holes in those nice side panels makes it look cluttered and messy. Front is the place for the gas bottles and locker's for us! They've just made a potentially nice sleek alutech design tacky. After seeing the video and internal look the front vertical middle section is grosss (says Mrs Gybe) and looks like it could become weak problem point as well(my practical opinion). The curved side wings of the middle drawer section also look as though they reduce seating/lounging space

I would say Bailey are probably using arty .....y designers who are typical chumps like many others with little idea on actual Practical Caravanning

and living with and maintaining a caravan.
So I think it's a NO from us.

not in the least bit excited, customers don't get the same hospitality that journalists do. Am excited by the arrival of my new Coachman on the 23rd though!!!!!

looking at the photos, of the new model the first thing that struck me was, where do you erect the porch awning?? as Gybe says too many side compartments (on the awning side) that overlap the windows,

What difference does it make having Michelin tyres?
Can't see that any brand of tyre makes a real difference on a caravan. Providing it has all the legal requirements it's just a Tyre. Michelin for a caravan would be my last tyre choice, I've never been a fan of their tyres as I've had dissapointing wear rates from them on cars and motor bikes despite their quality claims.

Looks nice and light inside. Hard to tell if it is as narrow inside as it looks; could be the camera angle. Hope we will get a few more pictures, the PC story has 4. Two of the outside (why?) and one of the heating controls.( Because when someone looks at new van, the most important thing is the visual appearance of the controls).
I don't agree that narrowing a van is a backward step. Some people may want a narrower van, and lots of choice in the market place is a good thing.

I would go for a proper look next time I am on a dealer forecourt.

If there was 6 to 10 inches difference it could make a difference for a few peopl. Narrowing by two inches? Can't see that 2 inches difference in width is going to make any real difference when towing. But two inches for seating space, when sleeping across the van or for space alongside a bed can be very beneficial

Somehow the blue graphics do seem to look better than the red on the Unicorn. Don't like that fussy front panel though but overall it looks a worthwhile effort. Having been brought up on narrower caravans, I think our first was 6' 10' I doubt the loss of 2' will be noticable.
Frankly however they might do better looking at improving their reputation rather than worrying about new models.

can't understand what all the fuss is about wet heating? the point? give me air blown any time - it heats up a small space in no time, is lighter and there's less to go wrong.
I agree that it looks incredibly narrow inside. It will struggle to accomodate tall people with long legs (so I'm ok!). Is it another fixed bed thingy? yet another waste of space in my opinion, that takes away from the 'adventure' of caravanning.
I think 'vans are getting way to over the top in plushness, but thats because I like the simple life, but not simple enough to go in a tent!
I'll stick to my Avondale, unless I've won the last comp!!

Some great features like grp sides and blue tooth heating controls, very snazzy. The new window will make the interior very bright but at the cost of your main front overhead storage and front gas locker. This may not suit everyone, I like my lockers where they are for now.

I too thought I would stick to my Avondale unless I had won an Eldiss. Given we are a week past the last date for entry I think we are both out of luck.

Very good point about the porch awnings. The vans are debuting earlier than we thought, at Manchester this week. Anyone going?

We will be at the Glasgow show and hope to see them there. We have a porch awning and have had problems on previous caravans with the window positions.
Must admit I never considered the hatches might be a problem although once pitched the only ones we normally open are the gas and the toilet so it may not be as big a problem as it first appears.

Hi we called in our dealers yesterday to drop off papers concerning servicing for our Pegasus 524.
This happened to coincide with an open day for the GT65.
To be fair we're perfectly happy with our 524 and haven't really seen anything to tempt us to part ex. but I must admit even my wife who generally isn't easily swayed was quite taken with the GT65 Rimini.
I was really interested in looking at the new Milenco double step in the shop but on having a quick look at the Rimini was very impressed. Maybe, maybe.
