"All Season Snoozy" - any good?

We have been the proud owners of our new caravan for 11 days and spent the first cold, wet week trying it out. We used two zip-together sleeping bags, but they are rather difficult to wash. I was thinking about using fitted sheets and a duvet, but the caravan bed makes up to 5ft x 7ft and king sized fitted sheets are too short! Whilst looking on google for fitted sheets, I came across a web site featuring "Snoozies" which seem to be two different tog double duvets, in separate covers, which appear to zip together like a sleeping bag but with removable covers.

Anyone used them? Are they worth the money? Can you buy additional covers?

We had originally decided to sleep down the sides of the caravan on two singles, in which case single fitted sheets and duvets could be used but decided we might just as well sleep across as we'd have to store the two backrests somewhere overnight! (We have a two berth Lunar Stellar)

Any thoughts/advice much appreciated.

Lyn

I've never come across these, but they seem like a lot of bother when all you need do is have a couple of duvets in different weights. You use the one you don't need for cover underneath as an undersheet, and sleep under whichever gives you the right degree of warmth for the season. No zips, but not much bother either, and you can use them at home when you need them.

Hi Lyn

I looked at these at the show and thought they were quite nice, but rather expensive. We also use duvets top and bottom, but we use 4 singles. You then have the choice of using the bed as a double but with your own duvets - no fighting for the duvet or draughts - or using them as two singles, again with your own duvets. Single duvets make storage a little easier too and definitely easier for washing and ironing.

Yes, I agree, we have a mixture of singles and doubles, which enables us to customise the bedding exactly e.g. if it is very cold, we can have a thin 'double' as bottom sheet, then wrapped over on top of a higher TOG single to give extra warmth on top. We normally have two 5 Tog doubles and two 10 TOG singles, which meet most needs. If we have anyone else with us in the 'van, it is easy enough to add in a couple of extra duvets from home, weight varying according to the time of year.

Isn't it great to know every eventuality is covered! I think that is the secret of caravanning - being organized!
