The automatic lights on my car come on in bright sunshine, but do not come on in fog. This is also true for OH car. No excuse for having no lights, but easy to get lulled into trusting the technology.

Coming home yesterday afternoon in the Gloop that Craig had, putting car away, noticed left hand low, light was burnt out. Same as you Mel, our auto lights don't come on until really dark. .

I turn auto lights to off. The car has day running lights so drivers in front can see me. I really don’t want auto turning the headlights et al on if it risks someone in a side road exiting in front of me or someone turning right across me just because the auto lights have come on. I’m still “with it enough” to control my own lights.

My Volvo's auto headlights are very sensitive... slightly overcast? Better put the headlights on! If I dare over-ride them, the car has a dicky fit.

BBC weather report for next week was great, sunshine all the week, so decided to have three nights at National Trust site, Houghton Mill, near Huntingdon, great place. As soon as I paid, the weather report changes to not so good, might take the wellies.

And the world turns yet again. Did I mention flooding? Well, last night the drain pipe below the shower plug FRACTURED and water came through the hall ceiling. Thats the third time in three years, each time a week before a holiday that our bathroom has caused a problem. Bullet bitten, as soon as we get back from Cornwall, the whole thing is being ripped out and redone.

We have a yellow flood warning in place until 9.30 pm tonight. Very heavy showers possibility of heavy thunder storms. I'm setting in my conservatory at the moment, very dark clouds, not a breath of wind, very very still and close. Have turned the air pumps on in my pond, Lost a couple of fish last time it was like this. Just started raining, glad I live at the top of a hill.

Well the three nights away at Houghton Mill went well, not much rain during the daytime, a couple of night time heavy showers, so all was good,
Except the combi water heater, Truma 4e blew up last night at about 3am. Cb's tripped in the van and the Bollard, reset everything seemed ok, took the dogs for morning walk, the boss went in for a shower, to find the water cold. Got home this morning, took the heater out and both elements had short circuited, so it's now with the local Truma man, luckily only 10 miles away, That's going to be £ 325 just for the two elements, then labour costs. Ouch.

OUCH indeed Hutch, sorry to hear that.

2 elements parts cost = £325.00? Gross profiteering.

If 2 elements cost that much then they should be guaranteed for 25 years.

Makes me fume.

I would be inclined to take that issue to trading standardscourts on reasonable life expectancy case.

I do hope that one day foreign suppliers come in with alternative productsparts and render these scoundrels out of business

And the world turns yet again.

Last year at Trethem, my air awning burst and we were helped out by a very nice couple that we have stayed in touch with. We will both be there on the same dates and same pitches this year.

However, here at Exebridge, i went to the aid of a chap with a similar problem, though due to the design of his air awning its RTB issue. That said, it turns out that he leaves Exebridge as we do for Trethem tomorrow, and of all coincidencies, is on the pitch sandwiched between us and our friend from last year. Three amigos linked by two burst air beams on adjacent pitches at the same time.

Hey Parksy, do I get brownie points for not mentioning either manufacturer. See, Im learning. :p

Hi Thingy
Well done for bearing in mind forum etiquette when posting comments on our message boards.
As it happens, you could have given the names of the manufacturers of the faulty air awnings in this instance
This is because you're not actually complaining as such, merely stating facts.
The respective awnings burst, you're not seeking advice on taking any commercial organisation to court, or advising others not to buy one, you just told us about something that happened in the same way that another forum member might state that "My Lunar/Bailey/Swift/Elddis is damp" which would also be allowed.
Brownie points for settling a shining example to us all though! B)
By the way, bring some strong awning pegs to Cornwall, we've had very strong winds here during the night, with vehicle alarms being set off and windbreaks all over the place.

Parksy must have been on the vindaloo to cause that much wreckage.

There has been a burst up here at Exebridge and we have had very little water and no pressure. Had to run round in the showers to get wet.

Warden has done fantastic job keeping the loos clean with no functioning flush. Top marks.

We're currently at CCC Sennen Cove site with an unseasonal EASTERLY gale! (Gusting up to 45kts this afternoon. Was taking bets on the record for an Audi estate with a roof tent longest flight...

Lovely site though, although I do wonder when people complain about the wind and the site sits a few hundred yards back from the cliff

If it continues then at some point it ceases to be a heat wave and becomes normal.
