This year the caravan will have covered approx 5k miles. I consider that above average for the majority who don’t caravan all year. High mileage for me must be greater than 10 k.
Probably 60% of the mileage was motorways ,the brakes were hardly used . The tour of Scotland involved some serious gradients where the brakes were on more than off.
I’ve yet to consciously feel the ATC kick in, well maybe once.
I can tell you 15 years on we are still on the original brake shoes! Checked annually by our AWS no issues.
Most brake linings don’t wear out more so the linings detach from the shoes when the hand brake has been left on for long periods in storage.
You mention the car. I’ve just had new front pads fitted . Last lot was five years ago.
