Another for Mr. Motton

Why has the Caravan section been changed? I've used it alot recently to find out about various vans but in the last 2 PC, it's now in a list form with just weights, measurements and cost of options. All the comments about individual vans have gone which is not helpful. Surely you could have included both?

Oh and are we going to get more hands on repair stuff like on your Wren instead of more tests of vans in excess of 15K? Thats where the magazine lives up to the first word in the title, Practical.

We've changed the buyer's guide to make it easier for those who don't know which make and model they want to draw up a shortlist. All two berths are now listed together in price order and so on. This format also allows us to include 10 extra items of information on every van. Unfortunately it isn't possible to include comments on the various ranges without increasing the size of the buyer's guide. This would mean cutting back on the number of pages in another section of the magazine.

However, if the new format proves unpopular nothing is set in stone!

'Practical' content doesn't have to come at the expense of caravan tests. We will continue to do both.

i agree with forbes aswell because you just look for the make and hey ho theres your answer. now you have to faf around with 2/3/4 pages of 4 berths what a nightmare.

david go back to the old way please.

I liked the old format, most probably because we were used to it and change is always questioned. I find that changing the layout codings means a bit more searching. As far as the comments section is concerned I don't think many people buy a new van on the basis of these comments which did'nt seem to alter much from one year to the next.

I'm quite happy to see how the new format goes, who knows we might get used to it then someone will come along and change it again. "can't please all the people all of the time". Mal
