Another newbie daft question

How do you empty the flushing/header tank on a manual flush Thetford loo. We have a new Abbey Vogue 495. The user manual explains how to empty the waste cassette. No problem. But other than pressing the flush time after time, I can not see how to empty the tank that contains the water used to flush with.

Any help most welcome

cheers

John

Hi John,

At the opening where you take the casette out, there is a tube with a rubber plug at the end . Remove the plug and the flushing liquid will empty.

Hi John , Bill is absolutely correct ,but I would just like to say there are no daft questions , occasionally you might get a a daft answer but hey we all had to learn

Happy caravanning

Regards Sir Roger

Pump as much as you can into the cassette (which will need emptying) then remove the bung, with an empty margerine tub, or similar, to catch the remaining drips.

On my Abbey GTS Vogue there is no pipe like on my previous van and the only way to empty the header is to pump it into the cassette.

Plotter, I think you may find there is a small rubber bung (no tube any more) at the bottom left. It took me years to spot it! Because there is no tube, it tends to dribble into the compartment.
