Another SKY+ question

Hi

Next week we are going to a small tree surrounded site and i am concerned i wont be able to get a sky signal. If i take my sky+ box will i still be able to watch recorded programs if there is no sky signal.

I am offshore working at the moment so cant test this by unplugging dish at home.

Thanks for any help

Regards

Sean

Hi Blu

If the programs are recorded before you leave home , then yes you can watch them even if there is no current sat signal.

Trees can be deceptive. A few weeks ago I had to move pitch because of a smallish tree within 30 feet of the sat line of view. Other times , eg Morvich in Scotland I thought it would be impossible to get a signal, but I did!

Generally trees will block out the signal but until you try you wont know.

Cheers

Alan

Hi Blu. you should be able to view your pre-recorded stuff. Do not be put off by trees. Its surprising how small a gap you need to squeeze a signal through. The secret is being able to locate the satellite accurately. If I can I choose a pitch facing south and where there is a gap in the trees. I use an electronic compass which tells me exactly where the satellite is. You will find it at Maplins, at the link below. I usually have a walk round with my compass, unless its obvious, before deciding on my pitch. Take note of others who have dishes out and maybe ask.Good luck.JTS
