Antara towcar

Hello
I'm looking to replace my old (03) Sorento with a new Antara (184) pulling a Sterling Eccles Ruby at 1600 MTPLM. Slightly concerned about 80kg noseweight.
Anyone any thoughts please or tow similar?

Seems a number of good reports on the car's towing capabilities. The maximum gross braked towing weight is 1700kgs. The only drawback seems to be heavy fuel consumption. See Honest John for reviews.

1700 for the auto, 2000 for the manual.
Fuel consumption could/ should be better, but i think if you are looking at a car that weighs the shady side of 2 tonne, you have to take a hit somewhere.
I feel that people have taken the "scientific test" results as gospel, and as normal only publise the downsides when they can't be matched.

Is 23mpg with 1630kg in tow heavy fuel consumption ?

As for the report that is going back to the 2007 models which are very different from the new one, engines, gearboxes etc.
I get an extra 7mpg from mine compared with my previous one.

Mat
