Does anybody know where you can purchase these boards I have asked my local Bailey dealer in Cornwall and they don't know anything about them?

Cheers Mandy

Hi again Mandy

I answered you on this one already but here goes again

Get your dealer to phone Bailey or do it yourself by contacting Bailey Customer Services.

I had no trouble in getting them via my dealer from Bailey.

They are now fitted as standard to the Senator and the Pageant.

and should I would have thought now got a part number.

If they still won't play ball just show them in a new van on the forecourt.

Hope that helps

Andy

I think that they are the additional boards screwed to the walls behind the seat cushion, this allows for the air to circulate.

We have them on our new van, and on the fixed bed there is a gap with an air vent if I remember right at the top of the bed between the mattress and the headboard, again for the air to circulate.

I think they are just pieces of caravan interior wall board that most good vans in the past had set about 1cm or so off the walls to form an air gap between the inner wall and backs of the vertical seat cushions.

We had two caravans where I was always losing keys and pens and stuff down behind them as I lazed on holiday. My daughter when about 10 lost her purse with the Grandparents holiday donation in it. We turned out the car, caravan and awning reported it to reception and the on site kids club reps and did another search the next day. She then remembered putting it by the window. Sure enough, trapped at the bottom behind the board was her holiday fund ;-)

Hi all,

What age van would you expect to find Anti-condensation boards in, I have a 2004 Senator Arizona but as far as I know I don't have them.

Hi Martin if you can't see pieces of wall board about a foot high the length of your bed cushions the you haven't got them.

You can easily make them from thin ply or plastic coated/wall papered hardboard .You just need to glue strips of 1/2in square timber every 2ft or so and fix to the sides as below.

It does indeed show the usefullness of the forum.

I heard about them here as well.

As to taking the van in to have them fitted it could be easier to fit them yourself .

They come pre-drilled and all you have to do is rest them on the framework at the back of the seat base and screw in a few screws.

I used no 8 woodscrews(and cup washers) just long enough to pass through the anti condensation board and about 1cm into the wallboard.

Not fitting anti-condensation boards really is the height of penny-pinching.

As for the age of the van, well mine is 18 and they were a standard fitment then.

Thanks for the info John (Watson(JohnG)) I guess it is this time of year that the boards are more crucial rather than when it warms up a bit (not that it's cold at the mo)

Martin,

I have had them on all vans going back to 1992 but my 2005 S5 Pageant did not have them. The caravan press picked this up although I think thatBailey said that they would not be required. Howver on S6 Pagaent they are now fitted as on Senators etc. Over this New Year despite our best efforts to keep good ventilation we sufferd condensation and damp into the seat bases and backs. I would think that ona 2004 van you would have a good case under Sale of Goods Act particulary as they are now being supplied under warranty. Suggest that you just talk to your Dealer and let them know of your problem, and that Bailey have taken positive action to address it.

Please can you inform me about the Senator Louisanna with regard to condensation boards? Should they be fitted as my caravan does not have them?

William.

Hi Earlybird

Yes it should be fitted with them

Have a look on "General" there is a thread on there that contains a lot about condensation boards.

Also do a search under Condensation Boards in the last 6 months

Personally I think that Bailey should have contacted all owners when they found the need to retro fit them

They seem to adopt a policy of only fitting if asked and sometimes dealers have not been helpful

There are also replacement rubbers for the front windows but Bailey have not publicised this either
