Never stayed there , always stayed at the bigger Langcliffe caravan park , closer to Settle (20 years+) more of a static site with touring pitches , for caravans and tents. When young, my old dad would drive us to stackhouse farm for day trips and he could park next to the river Ribble. and we would go swimming .
Close to Langcliffe park ( on the lane leading to it off langcliffe road) , there is a camping and caravan club site called Lodge park , again minimal facilities like a CL but a shorter walk into Settle than Stackhouse. also close to Settle on the Langcliffe road is Watershed mill , always good for discount clothing and presents and it has a cafe. The area is just wonderful , with Ingleton up the road with the waterfall walk and Ribblehead viaduct walk up to Whernside or to the more challenging Ingleborough ( both are also two of the best paragliding sites in the UK)) and further afield, Hawes and Aysgarth and of course Malham. We usually go there in the Spring to check out the caravan as its only 40 mile away from home . Whichever one you pick i'm sure you will have a wonderful time ( take wet weather gear and boots just in case).

It’s one of our favourite areas as Ian says there is so much to do and see. It suits all abilities. We used to stay at Hawes, and even now being van less we are booked for a week in September in Askrigg.

We had a Woosiefest a while back at Thornbrook Farm Ingleton. Great area. We fancy using the Settle railway for a day trip north through stunning countryside. We prefer CLs to the larger sites especially those with FSP. We tend to use our own onboard facilities so no shivering outside in the winter. CLs and CSs have improved considerably over the last few decades , good for all of us.
