Any ideas to a newby?

Hi there,
I work in Oxford at present and will do the same for next five years. I am thinking of buying a caravan to live on it for few years so I can save a large deposit for a mortgage as renting is so costly. I live by myself and I am a girl. Is anyone able to help me about sites, buying a caravan and how does getting the post work please? Thanks a lot.

hi Nurse, Welcome to the forum, there is a very long thread on perminant cararavanning on the forum somewhere, take the time (about 4 hours) to read through it all, most of the questions you have will probably be in there somewhere

, but for starters the main problems I would have thought would be finding the right site, the right van, and having a alternate perminant address somewhere for your post and documents to go to, by far the biggest hurdle is Winter, but thats all in the thread.
there are (or have been ) several members on here that have been fulltimers these are more experienced than I to put you right so ask any questions I am sure there will be plenty of responces.

Hi Nurse, welcome to the forum
If you are buying a touring caravan (as opposed to a static which cannot be towed) Click Here to have a look through the Caravan Buyers Guide, this will help you to avoid the most obvious pitfalls. There are lots of things to look out for if buying a used caravan, it might help if you enlist the help of an approved mobile caravan service engineer there will be one in your area and they will check a prospective purchase over before you buy.
We have many friendly and experienced caravan owners on the forum who will be happy to offer you tips and advice, good luck

Hi Nurse, welcome to the forum. Come back to us with more questions if the long thread doesn't give you all the answers. Will you be towing it or will you need someone to site it for you?
