The older ones ARE much better built than the new ones apart from one very important difference.

The older ones had lots of outer panels all joined with strips, gutters and rails. You should check inside the caravan inside the floor lockers, the flooring UNDERNEATH the van, and the rear and front corner lockers of the caravan. All these areas are susceptible to moisture, rain-water leaks, and damp.

If you find it.....walk away.

There was a 2002 Lunar Clubman 400/2 sold by me to a dealer in Derbyshire as it was altogether not "fit for purpose". The dealer grossly over-priced it and it languished there.

Thanks for all info........we went ahead and bought the lunar clubman 400/2 UNFORTUNATLEY........ when we got it back to our site, as soon as i went inside (it must have been the way that the light was shining) i saw this ripple next to the right hand side of the door, on closer inspection , you can feel soft n i presume rotting wood and the panle is soft, i remember starting to loo around this area but we were interupted at the time bye the salesman. pureley coincedental ime sure.......we have scraped together just enough to buy this van, and now looks like we are going to have too spend money on the repair...he didnt force us into buying it and left us alone to have good look around, i just dont know how i misse dit ..feeli a bit of an idiot.i think we were more concerned over the poor tyres, as one of then tyres had i tear in the side wall where the tread was coming away...hate being conned....it was from a dealer in lancashire that have been in business over 30 yrs appaentley........well i supose we wil live and hopefully learn........
