Hay Jack you need to learn how to chill mate. You question was a bit like look at me wanting a hummer to tow with, prahaps thats why you got the response you did. If you had explained what you did and the reason for wanting the hummer to tow you might just have got some better replys.

Why should I have to explain what I do or for what purpose the vehicle is for other than to tow a caravan, I thought that this was the full idea of the Forum?

What is it with you guys? I tow a caravan with a 10 year old Disco and my caravan is a 4 year old Sterling Eccles 490. I work over 60 hours a week and live in a 3 bed semi. I also rent a large lock up for my vehicles two of which are paid for the rest aren't.

If you are under the impression that I am some stuck up snob with a fleet of Limo's and spare cash to throw at a Hummer then you couldn't be further from the truth. I have to work for a living and was also looking at borrowing the money from the bank to buy the Hummer.

We are barely surviving in business as it is but we keep on working.

Finally, this is my last post with this site so my final words are, if you want to pre-judge people as you have with me then so be it but look at youselves first.

I could criticise the bulk of you and call you all names and tags but there is no mileage in that only to say that I hope you never need assistance at any time and it is refused because if that does happen you will most certainly deserve it!
 
Jack, I met a guy in Blackpool who towed with a Hummer H2, bright yellow, with chrome wheels and all the trim, and to be frank way over the top. Upsides are massive weight and massive power, and all the on-board toys you can imagine. Downsides are limited manouverability, gallons per mile fuel economy, and a pretty poor ride. They are built like nothing else on this earth, and you will go nowhere without being noticed. If you intend to use one as a showcar you should do well, because that's pretty much all they are.
 
Here we go again - a chap asked a valid question regarding towing a caravan and before we know it all hell is let loose. What on earth is going on? Why can't a person ask a basic question and receive valid help without all this bickering. Surely to God as mature adults it is possible to act in a mature manner without jumping down each others throats.

Just a point on Limo's.

I see loads of the stretch Limo's around the "effluent" south east including a few stretch Hummers. I have also seen more than my fair share of limo's with front wheeels hanging off! The front wheel loadings screw the wheeel bearings I'm told by giys that service thrm. So make sure you keep a check on them if you have one or buy one 🙂
