Fair comment. I have had the battery gave to me by a family member and is brand new. Amazon selling exactly same battery for £299. Maybe at a later date I would perhaps go down the off grid route any suggestions for what I will need would be appreciated
Initially I’d suggest not so much what you will need but more-so what your own requirements are.

People forget that caravans are actually designed to be used off grid. Most heating and fridges are multi fuel use. The battery just working the lights , the odd electrical pump, toilet etc. Most modern caravans come with a solar panel.

What do you have in mind?

Good evening all. Looking for some advice to install a lithium battery to my caravan. I only want to use it for the 12v system so not interested in the full inverter setup for off grid.

Question is what exactly do I need as research on google and YouTube is baking my brain? My towing vehicle is a 2021 Kia sportage diesel hybrid
A 100AH will run caravan 12V systems for weekend or more off grid. Adding 100W solar panel will extend it to weeks in summer. I'd recommend one with Bluetooth so can monitor its state of charge and what your power consumption is. May have to replace 230V charger check with van dealer. Newer van chargers should support both AGM and Lifep04.

If you want to start driving inverters and TVs then really need to stepup to 150 or 200AH and 200W solar panel. Alternatively look at portable power station eg Ecoflow, may workout cheaper and more flexible eg power fridge at home in power cut.
