anyone been to Charris in Dorset??

Hi,

Want to go to Poole in August and came across Charris camping site. Has anyone been here or heard of any comments??

Any other places in Poole worth trying?? (NOT Haven etc)

Hi Lydia,

I've never heard of your Charris campsite but I can strongly reccomend Merley Court Touring Caravan Park half way beetween Poole and Wimborne.Merley is part of the Shorefield group of sites www.Shorefield.co.uk have a look on there website its a lovely park or South Lychett Manor Park at Lychett Minster near Poole.The Poole area is a smashing area for a holiday.Good Luck and enjoy your caravnning.Jim
 
Lydia, I live in Corfe Mullen which is the village where Charris is located. Corfe Mullen is quite a nice place located between Poole and Wimborne. Candys Lane where the site is located is not the nicest part of the district being located close to the A31. We walk round there now and again, and though I have never been in, the site does not impress me. Candys Lane houses a large scrap recycling plant and lots of lorries use the road but I cannot say how much they effect the site.

If you want to come to Poole or Dorset for that matter there are many much better sites e.g. Lytchette Manor, Huntick Farm, Beacon Hill, Wilksworth Farm near Wimborne and many more.

As Jim has said Merley Court is good and is only a mile or so from Charris, but a million miles diffferent in standard.

If you want to know about any specific site then please ask.

Hi. I live in Wimborne and totally agree with Ray's comments.

Merley Court was mentioned on a previous note. I am taking my 3 yr old grandson there for a weekend and having stayed there before can confirm it is a very good site. BUT VERY EXPENSIVE
 
hi lydia about 4 years ago we booked a weeks holiday at charris mostly on the look of their website they say you learn by your mistakes and boy did we.site is next to a very busy scrapyard and the A31 the site was mostly full of people living permenantly in vans.after 1 night we made a quick exit and went to swanage for the rest of our holiday
 
Thanks to everyone for their input....thought it looked in the middle of an industrial estate on Google Earth!!!

Merley Court too expensive....will acarry on the search!
