Anyone going to the NEC?

Went this weekend and like others have said it was extremely busy. As always far too much to take in .
Looks like some of the manufacturers have really benefitted fromthe show. Was talking to asalesman on the Bailey stand and that have averaged 100 sales per day throughout tyhe show. They must be doing something right!

We were quite keen on a caravan and wanted to look inside but some fellow was in the caravan with the salesman and this fellow was taking the bunks apart to look underneath, pulling out the fridge and oven shelves, checking each cupboard door and then the sliding door on the caravan. You woudl almost think he had bought that actual caravan! Anyway walked off, found it on another stand managed by Chichester and got an excellent deal!

Hi there, we went for our first ever visit on the Saturday. Travelled up from Gloucester with my parents. Was very impressed as it's huge and we loved looking at all the motorhomes and thinking "if only!" as my parents are after a small automatic one but not at the price of the new ones lol.

Having just bought our first caravan, we came away with a set of 4 steady pads (think that's what they are!), a low voltage toaster and the parents bought a 3 height folding table and a folding chair - just the motorhome to buy for them then

. Pleasantly surprised at the friendliness of everyone - seems quite a community spirit. Most impressed with the free 15 minute towing experience provided, husband found that useful as driving a submarine in the Navy bit different to towing a caravan ha ha. Sadly I forgot my licence so couldn't partake (why would I want to when I can't even parallel park without breaking out into a sweat???). But promised the OH that I will indeed have a go once the caravan is sat on our drive at home and he's got used to towing.

BTW - didn't need the steady pads as it happens, got home and our lovely neighbours who've just purchased a year old swift sundance motorhome came round armed with all sorts inc. said items and a brand new Cadac Safari Chef used just the once! Love thy neighbours we say, bless them.

Having visited Malvern a few weeks ago on possibly the hottest day in October in my living memory anyway - we will return next year with our caravan as we found the area beautiful and added bonus, only 27 miles up the road. Will def be visiting NEC again, but maybe over 2 days as we were all done in at the end of the day!

We really enjoyed the show. We had two days and still did not see everything.
Still bought a new van. A Bailey unicorn Barcelona we were very impressed with this and can't wait till delivery next year. Got a very good deal as well.
Got a issabella 2.5 m awning too.
Very happy.

We went last Saturday on free tickets and in none towing Panda dieseland with own grub on board, so cheap, enjoyable day.
Can't figure out why both sat-navs I've used completely fail to locate NEC (don't use motorways, easier access off A446) plus as stated before on arrival car park navigation dismal.
Plenty to see, don't know which way to swing with the Airstreams, remind me of Dan Dare when I was a kid, could have whale of a time playing alien invaders with our grandson in them.
We were both, and this is personal taste, very impressed with the Vanmasters. Should we have been in the market for a van and in possession of the odd £30K that's what we'd have gone for.
Bemused by some of the people who when entering a van didn't go for the 'feel' and layout etc. but seemd to want to do a full post mortem, if you know what I mean. Thought we were watching CSI at times.
Anyway great day out, plenty to see but could do better with access, and that's in a Fiat Panda.

What did you buy??

We looked at the 2012 Lunar Delta TI and told the salesman that we liked it, but it was a bit more than we could afford. He then told us that they had some 2011 models with the same layout that were being heavily discounted and made an offer we could not refuse. So we collected our Delta TI on Monday and stayed at Blackmore from Monday until today experimenting with new ALDE heating ssytem and underslung water tanks.

I met old forum member Keith from Trowbridge at the show and he did a deal on a 2011 Coachman along similar lines at around 6k off list. Some cracking deals out there...
