Anyone have any experience of Bristol Caravans?

Think my van might have a bit of damp in the nose area and want a professional to have a look at it. Bristol Caravans seem local and the website informative enough. Has anyone used them and have any comment to make? Would be good to use someone known for good service/who comes on recommendation.

Well Oakley has had a look and there are small cracks in the plastic caravan front where it seals with the awning rail. Beyond econonical repair 🙁

So it's either a new van, a proper repair with new panels for more than the van is worth, a few £K on awning rail removal, drilling the ends of the cracks to stop them spreading and reseal, or let it slowly rot away. Not the news any caravanner hopes for.

I'll start a new thread in the technical section about what I might be able to do myself to lengthen the time it takes for it to collapse into a rot box.

Hi Jules_ht
My Adria is at present with Bristol Caravans for it's annual service. I am due to pick it up on Friday. I will update the forum sometime on Monday, as I will be away over the W/E.
KeefySher, where are Oakleigh based? I only looked at BC as they advertise as Adria Dealers and my previous services where carried out by an Adria Motorhome dealership in Bristol.
Regards

Oakleigh is the first name of the founder of Bristol Caravans, a true gentleman.

I'd have to agree. Despite the pretty devastating news about the van (which is not his fault!), service was great. Basically they took one look at it, saw the damp problem, saw the issue causing it, and said it was pointless doing a damp test for £60 and away I went with the van having paid nothing. A less scrupulous trader may have taken the £60. At least I now feel I know a van place I can trust!

Jules_ht,
I have got my caravan back from Bristol Caravans and am very pleased with the service carried out..
As KeefySher pointed out, Oakleigh is a true gentleman and went through all the checks that had been undertaken. What amused me the most, was the fact that he had never been in an Adria Astella before and was impressed with the layout.
Regards
