Anyone heard a Cuckoo yet?

Heard one yesterday in the lake district.

Stayed at The Croft. Went on a walk from Hawkshead to Coniston and we heard one in the woods. All silent except for the sound which sounded amplified. Great

No not yet but the Swallows and Swifts arrived last Monday, ours were a bit peeved due to us renovating the farm buildings, now having to find new homes.

We have Swifts and Swallows too. Not heard a cuckoo yet. Mind you I always find it a little chilling when I hear them...knowing some other poor babies are going to die soon🙁

We heard one last week when we stayed on a c.s. in the Wye valley not far from Chepstow.

The Swallows provided flying displays around us as they hunted insects.

We have heard two, one last week when we stayed at Normanhurst Court near Battle and over this weekend, in the woods behind our home in Maulden , Mid Bedfordshire.

Well done, Brian! The oldies are the best. I heard it on 17th, but my mate says he was around our valley on 15th.

Has anyone heard the saying that if you hear the cuckoo, you'll live for another year?

Well, Herself hasn't heard him yet, and she's worried sick!!

She's going to have her ears de-waxed torrow!
