Approx costing to fitting external power socket.

Hello all,

I have a 2001 Abbey that I want to get an external power socket to run lighting/heating into my awning. My van does have a wet locker on the N/S front so the socket could go inside the locker.

I am just looking for approximate costs so when I do speak to Van engineers I now what to expect.

thanks in advance.

Parts might be a waterproof socket, (though a standard one might be all that’s needed in the cupboard). A 30 amp junction box. And 1 metre of cable. Approx £15. Labour, about 30 mins. That is if there is a suitable cable behind which can be spared off.

One of these? I have one. Not difficult to diy but subject to the usual riders. If you don’t understand get the professional. Remember it involves very careful cutting of the side wall. No room for error. Correct sealant is a must. Not your usual sanitary ware silicone. Correct wiring joints and checking Earth continuity.

When we brought our Abbey caravan it already came with a 13 amp socket in the wet locker N/S front in your case i would as for a quote from van engineer then you know how much it will be ,
