after visiting the NEC national caravan, motorhome and boat show this weekend, i was appalled at just how many thousands of motorhomes there were compared to the caravans. we got sent in through an enterance and had to navigate our way through THREE halls of Motorhomes before we go to the 'caravan section'. next year, i won't be surprised if they announce a

"national motorhome show, with a few caravans as well" show.

not going there again, i am, like many others, waiting until the February show...

There's a Motorhome dealers near here which has well over 200 secondhand Motorhomes for sale (mostly bought during the credit boom, and now sold at a serious loss to their previous owners).

We've had both. The caravan wins every time. The major plus to us is that once you are on site you can pitch the caravan and use your car and go out as normal.

I've seen many a motorhome owner come back from a frustrating day out absolutely fuming, because 90% of the car parks they have tried to use, have had height barriers or low height restrictions, meaning they have been unable to park.

Even (amazingly) Park and Ride schemes do this. They don't want motorhome owners in City centres to spend money it seems. Crackers. Absolutely bonkers.

Two of the Oxford Park & Rides have special places for high vehicles - caravans and motorhomes etc. Have a look on the Oxford council website. The one to the south of town closes (for high siders) at 17:00 but the attendant let us park free just outside the barriers.
