Are we there yet?

A question I'm sure we'll be hearing a lot over the next few months!

A big Hi! to everyone and thank you in advance for answering what will probably be zillions of questions from me.

We are in the latter stages of planning a year-long road trip around the UK - a bit like the TV programme 'Coast' but with two boys aged 4 and 5 it may not be quite as serene! We are still undecided on whether to get a car/caravan or go completely mobile and do the trip in an RV Motorhome. Methinks the RV might be easier with the boys as they will at least be more comfortable when we're on the move but there are pro's and con's to both options. My hubby is the brains behind the adventure and I must admit, I have agreed with more than a little fear and trepidation! Off to have a wander around the posts now so hope to chat with some of you soon :)

Hi 'Vida', welcome to the forum

Questions are always welcome and I'm sure that our members will do their best to answer them.

The trip round the UK looks as though it will be exciting and I'm sure that your boys will enjoy it.

As you mention, there are pro's and con's for both options, I've found that the husband usually favours the motorhome and their wives often envy the space comfort and facilities of a caravan.

Of course a trip to the shops is more difficult in a motorhome with height barriers and the necessity of securing everything before moving off but perhaps I'm biased.

Good luck anyway and don't forget to keep us informed about your progress.

Hi having had a moterhome, when my daughter was small, we now have a caravan. I find the van much easier, as previously mentioned, you have to pack everything away even for a short trip to the shops, and there is much more space in a van for kids (we now have two. Good luck on your trip, and keep us all informed of your travles ta Julia
