Can any suggest any good sites in France possible near Bordeaux area either on the coast on inland we have 3 children aged 13,11 & 9 so something to keep them entertained is also an advantage, We was looking at Domaine de la Rive but it is quite expensive.

Thanks

Camping Sen Yan at Mezos near Lit et Mixe in Aquitaine. The site is approx 5 miles inland from Canet Plage and 60 miles south of Bordeaux. An excellent site that will keep you and the young ones entertained.

what sites would you recommend on the ille de re. I have 2 children 11 and 9 and we love cycling, was really going to the Loire valley but thing the Ille de re might be a better option? Never been to France before.Am a member of the CC. The prices for some of the sights seem very pricey, and there are so many of them

Hi Peter

We use a site near La Couarde sur Mer. It is in the middle of the Island and adjacent to the cycle track. It is possible to visit more or less all of the island from there by bike and apart from a "big shop" now and again also do all the shopping. We are fortunate to visit out of high season and its not too pricey then (15 euros a night in the ASCI book). The caravan club guide Europe 1 has quite a few sites listed under St Martin de Re in a section devoted to the island at the end of the France section of the guide. We love it and if the children want to be able to cycle everywhere safely they should too.

Dave
