Hi Parksy , I forgot to ask you where did the school come from at the BCM.

I had to sit in there with about a dozen other coach drivers and have a lesson in maths

All I needed was to work out was how many miles it was to get home.

I posted a couple of nights ago and cant remember where it was I think it may have been removed if it has Im sorry if I asked something I shouldnt have .

Regards Sir Roger

Hiya Sir Rog

Absolutely nothing to apologise for old boy, I don't think you've had a post removed so I'm sorry if I've missed it.

To answer your question the school which is on the Black Country Museum stood until the 1990's at Eve Hill, Dudley. It occupied a plot of land at the junction of Wolverhampton St, Himley Road and Eve Hill.

The school was reputed to have been built from some of the stone from Dudley castle after it was partly demolished by Cromwells parlimantarian forces after the English Civil war.

Another historical fact about the school is that Duncan Edwards the England and Manchester United Busby Babe who died as a result of the Munich air crash was a former pupil at the school.

When you say 'coach drivers' do you mean a beautiful Landau with four in hand?

Surely you don't drive one of those new fangled char a banc thingies with an infernal combustion engine?

Typo : should read Parliamentarian forces. P.S.

By the way Sir Rog,

Himley road leads to Himley which is the location of Himley Hall. When Edward V111 who abdicated was Prince of Wales he was a frequent visitor to Himley Hall and it is said that he often took Lady Ward - Dudley up the main driveway ;0)
