Automatic gearboxes

I have had automatic cars for towing and now in my Kia runabout for the past 9 years. Would dearly love an automatic in my Bailey motorhome but of course they are not available in the Peugeot cab. Now what surprises me is that the Likes of Practical Motorhome, and other such magazines don't challenge the cab manufacturers direct on this issue. I did read Peugeot don't offer the automatic box because they were unwilling to share in the original development costs with Fiat. If there is such a demand as the Blog suggests they are clearly losing out.
