autowatch 650 alarm

Hi
Could any of you advise, I have a 2008 Compass rallye caravan and it is fitted with a Autowatch 650 alarm, I am having some issues with setting/using the alarm
1, The leg sensor kept activating even though the alarm is de-activated on the key remote, I have managed to sort this out.
2, I have changed the PIR batteries but still cannot get the PIR sensor to activate
3, I have followed the manual to the letter but still cannot get the PIR to activate when the alarm is set and when I move about in the caravan.
4, I have followed the instructions to try and do the HOME and AWAY settings to no avail.
5, If I set the alarm on the remote the LED flashes on the receptacle to show it is set but when I move about in the caravan the alarm does not activate. When I press the test button on the PIR the alarm activates.
Is there a factory reset or would you think the PIR is u/s could you help with some advice on how I can get the alarm (PIR) to activate when I set the alarm. :S

Are you absolutely certain the system isn't stuck in the " at home" mode?

I have tried to set it for AWAY mode, when I follow the instruction to do this the book states to activate the wireless PIR to be reinstated and the system should give a bleep to acknowledge it has stored the code but there is no bleep.

Have you gone through the Test mode?
Each sensor should give one beep.
I have found with my PIR it has a delay in triggering sometimes more than the 30 seconds.
Sadly I have no other ideas. You could try total power disconnection for an hour but I am not sure if that will corrupt the key memory.
Time for a boffin?

I have gone through all that and still cannot get the PIR to bleep when code from it is supposed to be stored, I am totally baffled now, if I set the alarm, wait for 30 seconds then move around nothing happens but if I press the test button on the PIR the alarm activates, my head has gone now trying to sort it out, I have contacted Autowatch uk but still awaiting their reply. Thanks for your suggestions, if an when I get it sorted I will update.

My PIR gives a red flash from a tiny built in bulb to prove the unit is functional. Flashes every 60 seconds or so. Does yours do this?

I' m just wondering if the PIR is faulty although pressing the test button makes it work but bypasses the PIR activated portion of the unit.

I do hope you get a resolution soon. I'd love to know the result please.

Hmmmmm, no flash from my PIR, you may have hit the nail on the head, now to find a replacement PIR for the autowatch 650, been searching to no avail.
One question, do you have the same alarm?

Not quite.
The unit on my Wyoming is very similar but a no name unit supplied by Bailey.
The parallels are there.
I suspect from our discussions the PIC unit has failed.
There may be some people on here who know how to test and fix them.
Not sure how much an actual replacement is.

All sorted now, £49.95 lighter

at least the inside is now covered on the alarm, turned out to be a faulty PIR. Thanks for all your comments and advice Dustydog.
