Aviemore after the new year

We are thinking of heading up to Aviemore some time at the end of Jan next year, & just wonderd if anyone has been around the area before, & any tips on good sites would be great.

Can recommend Rothiemurchus Caravan site,its a couple of miles up the ski road,on the right past Hilton hotel.

Fairly new timber toilet block,16amp hookup,its open all year.

Best of all its right next to the path for the Lhariag Ghru which leads to excellent walking to suit all levels of fitness.

I will agree with John we visit Rothiemurchus every year, excellent site, good walks and close to Aviemore.

Try and get a pitch in the forest part of the site, last year we were watching Red squirles feed outside the caravan..

PS John were you there this year in mid August?

Hi Del,

if memory serves me well it would be late Aug early Sept we were last there with the van.

I have been up in Aviemore since,walking in Oct with my Son but we opted for the soft option and went b+b for a long weekend.

I just love Rothiemurchus and beyond, its like stepping back in time and then finish off with a great Indian meal in Aviemore.

Hi John

we were there for the last week in August , stayed on the end pitch in the forest which is our favorite pitch. Just hope when we go next year that the TV booster system is sorted out. The toilet new toilet block is one of the best we have seen on any site.

Hope weather is geed for next year as we are just about to book for August, might see you up there.
