Avon Midge repellant ???

Hi,

Can anyone help me with the name of the product made by Avon which is supposedly good for keeping the Blighters at bay ???

I can remember reading on this forum recently about the product.

Many thanks

Mark ( Sad & miserable, just back from France)

Sorry to hear your plight Mark. However, take a look under 'Forum Search' and type in: Midge repellent.

This will take you to a posting made by 'Ian' on 01.06.2006 which covers this Avon subject.

Good luck.

You can purchase this from e-bay just type in Avon Skin so Soft and you can see some stockists. Can't vouch for it never used it yet !!!

We used it in the Highlands in June, I found it to be useless, but then I do attract all nasty bitey insects.

I bought the Jungle Formula extra strength and it kept the little b*****s away for about a couple of hours.

Hi Mark, its Avon Skin so Soft, we get ours from an Avon rep who geos round door to door. I,ll vouch for it, im from the Isle of Skye and belive me, if it works there, it'll work anywhere. all the pipers i know up there all carry a bottle in their pipe boxes, myself included. The only other good repellent i can think of was the Army issue suff, maybe you can get it in some Army Navy type stores. Another tip is plenty of whiskey, then you dont feel them so much!!

Regards, Gavin.

We always travel with plug in bug killers, candles, creams and sprays.

When I first saw the forum some time back somebody was advising people to keep that sort of thing in their caravan for French and Continental trips especially.

Some to our surprise mocked the advice, we've never been without bug deterrents for over 20 years on Caravan holidays as my wife was seriously ill after a *** from some wayward flying pest.

We use Avon skin so soft, woodland fresh. This does seem to keep most of the little b*****s away.

It aint fun being a smorgers board to the midges.
