avondale kingfisher electrics

Hi there, I have just purchased a avondale kingfisher I think it's 1991 I tested the electrics and all worked running off a splitter and mains on a caravan site . I moved the caravan and tried to hook up somewhere else and there is nothing. No lights on the control panel. However I can't find a trip switch anywhere . Is there definetly one ? I can only find a control panel with battery charger switches etc which is showing no power I gave tried different cables which I know work as they were hooked up to other caravans. Can anyone help pls ??

If the electrics worked before moving the van but not after then it suggests a loose or broken connection somewhere.
There should be an isolating (or RCD) switch on the incoming mains cable, probably inside the wardrobe or just inside the van where the mains cable comes in, before going off to various other places.

If you are not familiar with electrics, and also depending on when the van was last serviced, it may be a wise decision to get a mobile engineer to give it a look over and ensure all is safe to use.

Personally |I think that either the RCD or the MCB's have tripped, doesn't take a lot to trip an RCD, just the act of plugging the hook up cable in while live can trip them.

Best bet is to follow the mains cable inside the van from the hook up plug, you should come across a little consumer unit with a RCD and one or two MCB's, check to see if those have tripped, if they have and they continue to trip unplug everything and try and reset them again, if you still get a fault then there is an issue with the van's 240 wiring.

Where abouts in the country are you? if you are close to Plymouth I'd happily pop round and throw my meter on it.

Rog.
