avondale perle

Hi,

Has anyone tried to remove wall cupboards, I have got a 1996 avondale and need to do some damp repairs. It seems that the cupboards are secured through the ceiling boards, how on earth does someone replace wallboards with the cupboards still attached to the ceiling, do I have to dismantle the ceiling as well.

Any advice please.

I can't comment on the Perle, but typical construction will have the cupboard facia supported by a frame. This is fixed via vertical screws through the ceiling to framework behind.

The shelf to your cupboard will be formed by thin 3mm ply over a light weight frame. The ply is often stapled in place and can prised free. This frame is screwed horizontally to the caravan wall. A cupboard may also be screwed to an ajoining one so check there as well. Take care with the ceiling boards as these are thin too, and easily damaged
