Here we are at Rutland Water and it's raining again, the wind has hardly dropped at all.
Who else is out this weekend?

I had the week at Pomeroy, near Buxton. We sat in watching the rain for 72 hours, thinking, if we didn't have the awning up
we would just go home, but if it stops, the awning will dry out.

Well, it never did stop. So we rolled up the awning, stuffed
it in the 'van and went home on Saturday. Although we had to get towed off the marsh (which used to be a field)
Of course, the sun came out on the way home

. Draped the awning over the clothes airer for an hour and packed it away dry.

Currently looking at ditching Scotland in 9 days time and going to turkey which has good deals. The saving in diesel just towing up there pays for two dogs in kennels for two weeks!

Hi
Just spent last week at the CC Wirral site.
Sunday arrival, just enough of a break to set up and fill aquaroll (must get rain catcher instead of tap).
Rest of the week on and off, Thursday morning really hot but rain rolled in across Dee estuary.
Didn't stop the crab fishing on the marina though, watched the rain mist roll across the Dee towards us, really enjoyed it though.
Brilliant for landscape photo's, y'know what they say:- 'no such thing as bad weather just the wrong clothes and not enough books to read'
Ever noticed that the children don't seem to bother, will go out with bikes in anything.

We beat a hasty retreat from Riverbend (Afon Banwy) in Llangadfan on Friday evening... Rained all afternoon and I decided to move the car to higher ground about 6 p.m. 'just in case'... Come 8.00 p.m. and I could see the river rising still further, I logged on to the EA website to check for flood warnings. Found the one I needed (or didn't.. You choose..) Vyrnwy catchment and tributaries flood warning.

Managed to pack up in 20 minutes flat, but coming to hitch up and the jockey wheel just sank into the mud... How me and Mrs MM managed to maul the van onto the hitch I'll never know, but ankle deep water does focus the mind somewhat. Me driving, her pushing the van managed to get enough traction to make it to a tarmac surface to stop and put the mirrors on... Have since found aching muscles in places I didn't know I even had places... Roads were quiet on the way back mind
