Awning Advice

Hello

Just purchased a Swift Conqueror 640 Salon. I have after a bit of advice.

I have sited my caravan and I want to purchased an awning for it. I know the size is 1050cms but what is the most suitable awning (make etc) considering it is sited for seven months of the year.

When purchasing a awning is the 'skirt' that covers the wheels and underside of the caravan included ?.

Thanks for your assistance

Hi Stephen,

If your caravan is going to be sited for so long then it is probably worth investing in a decent awning.

Isabella seem to be about the best regarded.

The 'skirt' is included.

Stephen D,

Assuming you are going to leave your awning erected for the whole 7 months in all weathers then you need the best awning possible.

Without question the best awning is an Isabella.Expensive but you get what you pay for. Providing it is pitched correctly complete with storm straps it will serve you for many years.

Two tips. Each time you leave your caravan unattended make sure you have tightend down the legs as they can slacken off a bit in a strong wind. This then as the caravan rocks puts extra pressure on the awning and is one of the main reasons why awnings become damaged. In effect the caravan tugs at the awning.

I would also use extra long pegs at the four corners of the awning.
