Awning cleaning

Hi guys,

I had my awning up last weekend and when I was taking it down it got some black grease on it from the steadies winding mechanism. Anyone have any advice on how to cklean it off ??

Cheers,

Trevor

hi,

grease is difficult to get out, especially on acrylic material.i have personally used methylated spirit, genty rub in till grease has dissolved and then flush thoroughly with water(hose gently).unfortunately after this, the place where you have cleaned needs reproofing.for best results so that the patch doesnt stick out like a sore thumb,do the whole panel.

Thanks Klarky,

You're up early in the morning !! 🙂

I called into my local accessories shop to-day and they said to try some Fairy liquid, and also to re-proof.

I think I'll try the Fairy and if that doesn't shift it I'll try the Meths.

Cheers,

Trevor
