Awning Curtains - which way round

Apologies if this has been covered previously, but why are awning curtains hung with the fabric pattern facing to the outside? Fraid I hang mine with the good side facing in the awning.

my curtains in my house have the fabric pattern facing in to the room, I wouldn't want to look at the linings and show the good side to the neighbours!!!

Or am I missing something!?

It does not matter which way they are hung.

It is purely personal choice.

I agree with you in fact, I bought the awning for ME to enjoy, not to impress anyone else.

The curtains are for internal viewing and ours face inwards.

Agreed face them inwards, you dont face your curtains at home outwards?

I've heard of people who hang expensive curtains in the home pattern facing out to impress the neighbours; no doubt with matching wallpaper on the outside walls too - urban myth I suspect. Still stranger things could happen.
