Awning for Bailey Ranger 550/6 - Which one

Hi there

Very new to carvanning and am looking to purchase a second hand awning to fit our new bailey ranger 550/6. The brochure states 989cm. I have been looking at a Bradcot Active 990cm - would this fit? Any advice from anyone whoch has this caravan and what they use would be gratefully received.

Hi Emma. Also new to caravanning and have just bought the 550/6. However, I have plumped for a scenic plus porch awning. Went up easily first time and is big enough for the freestanding table and a couple of chairs.

Yes, a 990 cm awning would fit your Ranger.

We have just sold our 550/6 ranger and updated to a senator. We had a Venturer Atlantic awning and it was great, Bradcot are apparently quite good too though. Isabella is the top of the crop for awnings.

Hi Emma, we also have a 550/6 and opted for the Inaca Sands awning ( a Barons exclusive ) It looks similar to the Isabella awnings but is almost half the price. It fits the van great, looks great and most importantly, is very easy to erect.

If you are able to attend one of the main caravan shows, then you will usually be able to get a decent discount off most makes. We got 10% off ours.

I know it sounds extravagant but we also have a small suncamp 'pop up' porch awning that we use for short trips. They go up in 10 mins and are not overly expensive ( approx

Hi Emma, We've been caravaning about 5 years and used to have a Bailey Ranger 550/6. We traded it in earlier this year but still have the awning, it is Dorema cardinal full awning size 13 which fits the full length of the 550/6. We bought it in March 2004 and used it about 4 or 5 times, it has lightweight aluminium poles and quick lock joins. It is grey with blue trim and curtains.

Would you be interested in buying it?
