awning inner tent

Currently away on hols. Put up the full awning without an arguement so feeling jolly pleased with ourselves! Bought an inner tent so lad could have his own space to sleep in. (translation; so we could have peace and quiet in the evening by consigning him to awning). Bought a universal, "fits most awnings" job. Well it doesn't fit ours. The hooks will not reach the roof bars without the roof bars being ridiculously close to each other, and even if they did, the stupid inner tent would be a foot off the floor. Fortunately we had also brought the throw up pup tent; so he is still in the awning. (smug grin at preparedness for failure icon thingey)

Are we doing something wrong? If not I have a surplus to requirement unused awning inner tent if anyone wants it. BTW the awning is a pyramid tuscany.

Hi Mel

We had the same problem with an inner tent bought at a later date to our then awning. We solved the problem by using those bungee rope thingys with the hooks on the end - I don't know the technical term for them, but the things that people use for securing luggage on roof racks. We just hooked them to the awning hooks, then you can hook the other end of the bungee rope thingy wherever you like.

You're welcome Mel. Hope it works for your lad.......having his own space is very important (translation: Parents want time/space/peace and quiet!!) LOL ;o)
