Awning Ladder Straps

Just a quick one, when pegging down your awning how tight do you have the ladder straps?
Do you have them so they are really tight or do you leave a bit of play?
Obviously if they are tight and pulling the awning down it gives the final tidiness of the awning a smarter look, but is that advisable as thinking of gale force winds it would reduce the elasticity of the strap.
What do you do and what is the actual recommendation from manufactures?

I tend to peg ours down fairly tight but give the straps a few twists, which tends to stop them from "Humming" in the wind.

I usually put mine in fairly tight as i like a Taut Awning. Nowt worse than it looking like Norah Battys' tights. Never had a problem with them being overtight.

Used to hate the type on the Isabella (not ladders) as I had to twist them umpteen times to get any tension on them at all.
