Just had our first trip away of the year. Two weeks in the Borders and Dumfries and Galloway. Glorious weather. Arrived on sites and set up without any problems which is unusual as something often breaks or fails to work.

But......on the last day, on a one night stopover, the water pump stopped working. Since it was only one night we managed without the pump.

Checked it this morning and the submerisible bit is dead. Tried to tear it apart but its a sealed unit so we'll need a new one before the next trip.

Caravaning - not only does the toilet cassette need emptying but you're wallet as well.

Think yourself lucky!!
I have just travelled down from Rouen to just outside Le Mans. My "navigator" said "Take the Peage, its quicker and an easier drive for you"
She was correct on both points BUT when we exited the Peage they robbed me of €54.20 😱and thats with a Class 2 PVC

Surprised that with your experience of overseas travel you didn’t realise it. But looking on the positive side it makes our VED look a bargain.

I was expecting to pay a fair sum for using the Peage, but €54 did come as a severe shock.
